The Leader in Me is a whole-school transformation model that acts like the operating system of a computer—it improves the performance of all other programs. Based on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, The Leader in Me equips students with the self-confidence and skills they need to thrive in the 21st-century economy. What would be possible if your school were filled with students who were responsible, who showed initiative, who were creative, who knew how to set goals and meet them, who got along with people of various backgrounds and cultures, and who could resolve conflicts and solve problems? Flag View is currently partnering with the Department of Juvenile Probation and Officer Randy Shelly who is coming to individual classrooms to teach the 7 habits to our students. Please click on the Leader in Me logo to go to their website for more detailed information on the program.

1.  If your child is absent, they have 3 days to bring in a note to excuse their absence.
2.  If no note is received at this time, your student will be contacted and given a print out of the day(s) in question.
3.  If no note is received the following day, your student will be placed in lunch detention.  The lunch detention will continue for the following three days, or until a note is received.
4.  If no note is received at this point, the absence will be changed to a truancy, and dealt with as such per NRS 392.210 .
Please be advised that NRS 392.210 states as follows:
Any parent, guardian or other person who has control or charge of any child and to whom notice has been given the child's truancy as provided in NRS 392.130 and 392.140, and who fails to prevent the child's subsequent truancy within that school year is guilty of a misdemeanor.
